AAUP begins new service project: College Career Closet

Starting in March 2016,  members of AAUP are volunteering to staff the College Career Closet. The Career Closet project is a partnership with the College Development Office and the Cincinnati State Foundation.

The Career Closet provides professional attire, at no charge, for Cincinnati State students who are preparing for interviews or for work assignments through co-op or internship. Students must be referred by a College faculty or staff member to use the Career Closet.

The Cincinnati State Foundation has been successful in obtaining donated new or gently used professional attire for the Career Closet, but regular staffing has been a problem.

AAUP’s initial efforts to provide staffing for the Career Closet coincided with the Career Fair held on the Clifton campus on March 16. AAUP Service Committee Chair Andi Feld will be working with the initial group of volunteers to set up a long-term plan for staffing, so the Career Closet has regular hours of operation published each semester.
